The Royals host the White Sox for the final time this year in KC. As of last night, Kansas City is 31 games above .500 (82-51) and has a 13.0 game lead in the A.L. Central, the largest in all of baseball.

Manager Ned Yost said that Kelvin Herrera and Alex Rios, who came down with chickenpox last week, have both been cleared to play and both were at ‘The K’ working out this morning. Mike Moustakas is feeling better but will not be ready until he is around 90-95 percent back to normal.

Kris Medlen will be making his third start and 10th appearance for KC this season, after returning from his second Tommy John surgery. “We are looking at about 90-100 pitches for him tonight,” Yost said. “There is no need to put any (additional) stress on his arm.”
